Who We Are
Renegade was built from firsthand experience working in the utility and telecommunications industries.
That experience gives us a unique understanding of the challenges that exist between field crews, utilities, attaching companies, contractors, engineering teams, and back-office staff.
We know that many infrastructure delays are not caused by one major problem. They are caused by small breakdowns between departments, incomplete information, poor communication, aging tickets, missing documentation, and disconnected workflows.
Renegade was created to help close those gaps.
Rather than focusing on only one part of the process, we provide support across the entire project lifecycle, from fielding and permitting to construction coordination, inspections, NJUNS management, and final closeout.
Built From Real Utility Experience
Our approach is grounded in real-world utility operations, not just theory.
Renegade's leadership brings more than a decade of experience in electric utility, Joint Use, safety, telecommunications, field operations, engineering support, and infrastructure management.
That experience includes working directly with utility poles, attachment programs, permitting, make-ready coordination, NJUNS, Joint Use systems, field inspections, contractor management, and utility workflows.
Because of that background, we understand how decisions made in the office affect the crews in the field, and how field conditions affect everything that happens afterward.
That perspective allows us to provide solutions that are practical, efficient, and built around the way infrastructure work actually happens.
Field Experience Meets Technology
Modern infrastructure programs depend on accurate information and efficient systems.
Renegade combines traditional field experience with modern technology to improve how projects are managed.
Our team works with platforms and tools including NJUNS, JU365, Power Apps, Power Automate, GIS and mapping systems, pole loading software, and field data collection platforms.
We use technology to improve visibility, reduce repetitive work, automate routine processes, improve documentation, and give clients better control over their projects.
Technology is not the goal by itself.
The goal is to make the work easier to manage.
More Than a Contractor
Renegade Infrastructure Group is not focused on being the largest company in the industry.
We are focused on being the company our clients can rely on when they need something handled correctly.
Whether that means walking poles, clearing an NJUNS backlog, preparing a permit, supporting a construction project, improving a Joint Use workflow, or managing a project from start to finish, our goal is to provide practical support that creates measurable results.

Leadership
Michael Herring
Founder & President
Renegade Infrastructure Group was founded by Michael Herring after more than a decade working throughout the electric utility, Joint Use, safety, and telecommunications industries.
His background includes work as a journeyman lineman, service lineman, engineering technician, Joint Use coordinator, safety and Joint Use leadership, field operations, and utility consulting.
That experience exposed him to nearly every side of infrastructure work, from working directly on utility systems to managing Joint Use programs, contractor activity, permitting, software, and operational processes.
Renegade was created around a simple idea:
Infrastructure projects work better when the people managing them understand both the field and the office.
Today, that philosophy continues to shape how Renegade approaches every project.
